Before Session

A. Yes. All moderators moderating a session must register at a member or non-member rate for the conference.

A. The full program details is available on the TACConf website (Program section).

A. Yes. All presentation session moderators will be provided with access to TAC’s online submission portal to view presenter submission details and slide decks.

A. No. Moderators are responsible for preparing their welcome address and introduction and should consider including the following:

  • Land acknowledgement (optional)
  • Session name and title; introduction of each presenter
  • Acknowledge session sponsor (if any)
  • State that the session slides will be available post-conference, as PDFs.
  • For moderators in Rooms 2E and 2F, when a French presentation is indicated: remind attendees about Wordly interpretation, the QR code for accessing the service, and the requirement to use headphones.
  • Presenter timing
  • Remind presenters/panelists to speak into the microphone
  • Audience questions via floor microphone

A. Moderators will have access to TAC’s online submission portal to view presenter information, including bios, but we recommend you retrieve the bios from the full program details.

A. Yes. In early September, a training and information session will be held for moderators. More information will be sent in August.

A. No. All presenters, including panel discussions or workshops where a presentation is included, must submit the final version to TAC by September 23 through the presenter’s account in TAC’s online submission portal.

During Session

A. All session moderators are asked to arrive at their session room at least 20 minutes before the official start time.

A. No. All presenters must be present in person at the conference.

A. No. All presenters must use the laptop provided in their session room. The laptops will be pre-loaded with the final decks.

A. Presentations in general presentation sessions are allocated 25 minutes (including time for audience questions). Lightning presentation sessions are allocated 8 to 10 minutes each.

Panel discussions and workshops may have different time allowances for presentations.

A. Yes, in the Opening Plenary Session room (Hall A) and in two session rooms (Rooms 2E and 2F) when French presentations are indicated. TAC will arrange simultaneous interpretation (French↔English). The Wordly platform provides real-time voice and text interpretation. Attendees should bring earbuds or headsets.

A. TAC will communicate any presentation withdrawal as quickly as the information is made available. The moderator should use the time slot for discussion or a break, then proceed with the next presentation.

A. Presentations uploaded by the September 23 deadline are considered final. No slide deck changes can be made on-site.

A. Yes. Each room will have a volunteer for general support, and audiovisual technicians will be available on-site.

A. No. Sessions are not recorded. PDFs of slide deck presentations will be made available post-conference to all registered attendees.
